General hospital amenities
The WRVS shop is inside the main entrance on Meadow Level (Level 1) and sells newspapers, magazines, cards, flowers, confectionery, snacks and gifts.
Costa Coffee is situated inside the main entrance on Meadow Level (Level 1). The River Court restaurant is for visitors and staff, and is located on Level 0 of the main hospital building. It serves cooked breakfasts, lunches and supper as well as a selection of hot and cold drinks, salads and sandwiches.
A newly installed cashpoint is situated just inside the main entrance on Meadow Level (Level 1). The machine does not charge for withdrawals.

Bus: Routes that run to and from the hospitals are the 300, 303, 333 and the X33. Details are available from: www.worcestershire.gov.uk/bustimetables
Parking: Payment is ‘pay on exit'. You will be given a ticket at the barrier as you enter the car park. When you leave the hospital please use one of the pay machines to pay the charge and have the ticket validated. Pay machines are situated inside the main entrance, inside A&E and in each car park. Charges are as follows:
Up to 2 hours: £2.50
2 - 4 hours: £3.50
4 - 6 hours: £5.00
6-24 hours: £7.50
Tickets entitle you to 20 minutes free parking, enabling you to pick up/drop off patients/visitors. Please ensure you leave the car park within this time or you will be liable to a charge.
Parking is free for anyone displaying a valid badge and parking in a designated parking space. There are designated spaces outside the main entrance, on the access road leading to A&E and outside both Aconbury blocks.
If you are visiting an immediate relative who is a long-stay patient, you may be eligible for a reduced-fee parking pass. Please speak to the nurse in charge of the ward for more information and an application form. If you are a patient receiving regular treatment, please see the clinic manager for details of concessions.

No. of Beds: No dedicated oncology beds, 2 bays with 2 beds each specifically for adolescent patients.
Age Range: 0-16 (or to 18 if in full time education).

Play: There is a full-time play specialist, playground, playroom and adolescent room with Playstations etc (only for secondary school aged patients).
Other Facilities: These include a parents’ sitting room, coffee making area and bedrooms.

Rounds: These take place daily at 9.30am.
Visiting Hours: Open visiting operates for parents and relatives.

Orchard Service: The Orchard service is a Community Children's Nursing team who work closely with the Children's Ward to enable children to receive care at home whenever possible. There are three teams within the county based at Worcester Royal Hospital, Alexander Hospital in Redditch and within the Diagnostic and Treatment Centre at Kidderminster. The team also have a social worker who provides family support throughout the county. The service hours are 9am – 5pm, seven days a week.
