Home > About childhood cancer > Online Community > Message boards >Why can’t I see the post I have just written?
At present, the message boards are moderated, so your post has to be approved before it is published on the website. Moderators are currently on the boards 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, and occasionally on Saturdays. We are looking to improve the availability of the boards, and into our moderation policy.
If I press reply, why is it asking me to log in?
To use the discussion forum, you have to be a registered user. If you are not logged in using your username and password, the site will ask you to log in before you post. If you do not have a user name and password, then you need to create one by registering with us. Once you have done this, you can then log in and reply to any message, or create your own.
Why can’t I add links?
This is because of our online safety policy. We cannot control the content of other sites so we would rather not directly link to any via the forums as we do not know what content they contain.
If you have found a link which you think is useful to the community, you can post it to us via the feedback button (on the bottom of the page) and then – subject to our links policy – we will add it to our useful links section.
Why can’t I add email addresses?
This is because of our online safety policy. People are not always who they say they are, and especially because the forums are aimed at parents and young people, we feel that it is better to keep personal information – including contact information – to a minimum. We are working on a safer way for members of the online community to contact each other.
