CLIC Sargent will set up shop on a 1960s double-decker bus at Glastonbury Festival (23 – 27 June 2010) – ready for revellers to snap up a bargain.

The bus will be in the Market Area between the Other Stage and West Holts (formerly Jazz World) and close to the Orange Chill ‘n’ Charge tent. It will be brimming with vintage clothing, brand new clothes and accessories and all manner of weird and wonderful fancy dress items.

Jeremy Lune, Head of Retail at CLIC Sargent says: “We are so thrilled to be back at Glastonbury again this year. We’ve had some really generous donations of amazing vintage and brand new clothes and we can’t wait to meet the punters! Come and pay us a visit and snap up a bargain to complete your festival look, and help us to continue supporting children and young people with cancer.”

The bus will also play an important practical role as an area where young people who have been supported by CLIC Sargent can hang out and relax during the hustle and bustle of the festival goings on.

13 young people from Devon, Cornwall, Wales, Somerset, Wiltshire, Buckingham and Hampshire had to apply to go – and describe what music had meant to them during their cancer treatment.

Phil Day, festival organiser at CLIC Sargent says: “Not only does this experience unite young people who have shared similar experiences but it also helps develop their self esteem and build their confidence,” he said.

“They can make new friends and put their life back on track after months or even years of gruelling cancer treatment. Each one has an extremely powerful story of how music has helped them through difficult times.”

The CLIC Sargent shop will be trading at the festival from Wednesday to Sunday and the Charity is hoping to raise £10,000 to help fund vital services for children and young people with cancer, and their families.
