Judges Angie Robinson, Lorraine Tighe & Moneeb Awan meet the first Ultimate Corporate Challenge team, Amaze Marketing and Technology agency
Apprentice star, Lorraine Tighe, is inviting local businesses to test their ingenuity in a challenge designed to find the ultimate corporate, while raising money for families affected by childhood cancer.
The Ultimate Corporate Challenge is being run by CLIC Sargent and will give companies across the Greater Manchester area the chance to put their skills against each other in a head to head battle to generate vital funds for the cause.
In teams of up to six people, corporates will be given three months, starting from March 1st, to raise as much money as possible, without spending more than £50. The first team to take up this challenge are Amaze marketing and technology agency based in central Manchester, who are already planning their fundraising strategy.
Nick Bradshaw, managing partner of Amaze , comments: "The team at CLIC Sargent has come up with a great fundraising concept and Amaze is relishing the chance to get involved with the challenge and raise money for such a worth cause. We're looking forward to seeing what other businesses we'll be up against and hope that our creative thinking will help give us an edge when it comes to the final placing!"
Team performances will be judged by a high powered panel consisting of BBC Apprentice 2009 contestant Lorraine Tighe, Greater Manchester Chambers of Commerce CEO Angie Robinson, Dr Moneeb Awan, founding member of the award winning eSAY Mobile and President of Greater Manchester Chambers of Commerce and Julie Finch, Managing Director of the innovative software development company, Axon Birch Ltd.
The team that raises the most money will be crowned as Greater Manchester’s Ultimate Corporate. The panel will also award prizes to the most innovative team, the corporate with the best strategy and the top team member.
Local Event Fundraising Manager for CLIC Sargent, Sophie Porfirio, said: “We are calling on businesses across Greater Manchester to put their creativity and resourcefulness to the test and join our Ultimate Corporate Challenge.
“This is the perfect opportunity to improve your bottom line and help your employees to develop new skills while raising money for a fantastic cause.”
All teams will receive a free days training with CLIC Sargent’s Head of Fundraising UK which will equip them with information, advice and materials to help during the challenge.
Last year, CLIC Sargent supported 214 children and young people with cancer, and their families across Greater Manchester. The Ultimate Corporate Challenge is targeted to raise £20,000 for CLIC Sargent. This would be enough to fund CLIC Sargent’s part-time Youth Development Worker at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital for a year.
