With the public ballot for the Great South Run now closed, CLIC Sargent is encouraging runners who are still keen to take part to snap up its last few remaining gold bond places.
On Sunday 24th October 2010, hundreds of people are expected to take to the streets for the 10 mile challenge. Gemma Jones, Running Events Coordinator for CLIC Sargent, said: “There are a few places left in the CLIC Sargent running team and these are available on a first-come first-served basis, so we would urge anyone still thinking of taking part to give us a call as soon as possible.
“We are also appealing to runners who have secured their own place and are looking for a charity to support to join our team and dress up and run as a nurse for the day!”
All CLIC Sargent runners receive a fundraising pack, running vest and are invited to the CLIC Sargent marquee where there will be refreshments and a massage for everyone taking part in the race. The charity expects to have more than 150 people running on the day.
For more information or to register for a CLIC Sargent running place, call the 0845 602 4770 or visit www.runfornurses.com. In return for a CLIC Sargent running place, participants need to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £36 and pledge to raise a minimum of £175 for the charity.
Today we can only help two out of three families who need us. That’s why we need you to run for us. This year the CLIC Sargent hopes to raise more than £35,000 from the event.
