Fundraisers gather at the starting line for CLIC Sargent’s first New Year's Day Dip in Northern Ireland
More than 50 brave fundraisers blew away the New Year’s Day cobwebs with a plunge in the Atlantic Ocean this year!
The first CLIC Sargent New Year's Day Dip in Northern Ireland took place at Portrush East Strand Beach and raised more than £3,000 for children and young people with cancer.
Dippers came from near and far, with some even sporting fancy dress.
Michelle Carolan, Community Fundraising Manager at CLIC Sargent said; “It was great to see so many people come out on New Year's Day to raise money for CLIC Sargent. Although the sun was shining, it definitely took a lot of bravery to plunge in to the Atlantic Ocean in January! It really shows how committed people are to raising funds for children and young people with cancer.”
Special thanks go to Andy Hill at Trogg’s Surf School and Mark Kennedy at Eye Feel Good. Without their organisational skills and support this event could not have happened. We’re already looking forward to a bigger and better event for 2013.”
