It’s called a static line jump because from the moment you step into the aircraft, you will be attached to a ‘static line’ which is designed to automatically open your parachute for you as you exit the aircraft.

The jump is in two parts; one day you will have a minimum of six hour's training and the following day you will perform the jump solo from up to 3,000 feet.

Points to remember:
  • You will receive thorough training on day one for your jump on day two.
  • You can choose from the traditional round canopy or the newer square canopy which allows you to steer!
  • You will jump solo from 3000 feet, closely supervised by professional parachute instructors.
  • You will be securely attached to a ‘static line’ designed to automatically open your parachute for you.
  • This type of jump is the first step towards becoming a qualified skydiver if you opt to use the latest square canopy design.
  • You will receive an official certificate to prove that you have completed a solo static line jump and training course
How much do I have to raise?

To take part in a static line jump for free, you need to raise a minimum of £280 (using a round canopy) or £350 (using the newer style of square canopy) in sponsorship for CLIC Sargent. This breaks down to include the cost of your registration, the cost of your jump on the day plus sponsorship that goes towards CLIC Sargent.

  • Duration: two day course. Day one training, day two jump.
  • Age: must be16 – 55 years old inclusive.
  • Weight: must be under 15 stone (95.25kgs) static line square canopy or under 13 stone (82.55 kgs) for the static line round canopy.
