What is Readathon?
Every year over half a million children across the UK pick up their books and take part in ‘Readathon’ – a national sponsored reading event that raises vital funds each year for charity!
The money rasied through these events is shared between Readathon, who support children's literacy and reading, The Roald Dahl Foundation, who provide practical assistance to children and young people in the areas of neurology and haematology, and of course CLIC Sargent, the UK's leading children's cancer charity.
The event has been running for 25 years and has raised more than £22 million in that time with more than 30 million books being read! As such millions of children have been introduced to reading for fun, and their literacy has improved as a result.

Children simply read books in exchange for pledges of money from family and friends. Readathon will provide you with everything you need to organise your event including; a step-by-step guide, sponsor forms, posters, stickers, bookmarks, information for parents and much much more!
