What is Readathon?

Every year over half a million children across the UK pick up their books and take part in ‘Readathon’ – a national sponsored reading event that raises over a million pounds each year for CLIC Sargent and the Roald Dahl Foundation!

The event has been running for 22 years and has raised more than £19 million for charity with more than 30 million books being read!  As such millions of children have been introduced to reading for fun, and their literacy has improved as a result.

The concept is simple and taking part is easy!

Children simply read books in exchange for pledges of money from family and friends. Readathon provides you with everything you will need to organise this including; a step-by-step guide, sponsor forms, posters, stickers, bookmarks, information for parents and much much more!
