Home > Get involved > Fundraising and events > Overseas/UK challenges > Challenge event blogs >After having completed CLIC Sargent's Brazil Cycle & Project for Kids with Cancer challenge in November 2007, I was well and truly hooked! I was determined to help again in 2008 and returned to the CLIC Sargent website to see where the next cycling challenge would be in. The destination was China and i could think was wow, where do i sign up!
I’m confident I can achieve the sponsorship of £2500, as i raised over £4000 for the Brazil cycle event. One of my work colleagues has agreed to help me with my fundraising and we are definitely going to be doing it in style in 2008!
Next week we’re off to buy our costumes (Batman and Robin) for our first fundraiser which will involve us, in our local shopping centre on Saturday 19th April on exercise bikes, cycling 160kms each (to roughly match the distance I’ll be cycling in China).
Our 60’s style super-hero costumes should definitely attract some attention and hopefully get us a few more coins thrown in the buckets we’ll have with us. We have already managed to secure sponsorship of £1300 and have had prizes donated by the likes of Barcelona Football Club, Steffans Jewellers and Coca-Cola for future raffles, so all is going well so far.
I’ll update on how the supermarket/superhero cycle went and even add in a photo or two (as long as the superhero tights don’t look too bad!).
