Who the money you raise helps
Linda’s son Chris was diagnosed with leukaemia when he was 10 years old.
Towards the end of his summer holiday Linda took Chris to a local museum for a day trip. When Chris stopped for a drink and said he was too tired to walk any further Linda knew something was wrong.
Linda says, “Chris was immediately transferred to the hospital where they put a hickman line into his stomach and started him on an intensive course of chemotherapy. He stayed there for nine weeks and was so poorly he rarely left his room.”
Throughout his treatment Chris was supported by a CLIC Sargent Youth Walker who arranged for Chris to go out on regular trips to watch football.
In October last year, Chris was given the all clear and now, at nearly 14 is in remission. Linda continues, “Chris is in great form now, he’s always out and about with friends and he loves playing football. CLIC Sargent gave us lots of support and helped Chris to continue doing the things he loved.”
