Chris Hughes - Producer, Arranger and Musician
Best known as producer of the Tears for Fears platinum selling album Songs from the Big Chair and co-writer of Everybody Wants to Rule the World. Chris has an impressive background as a musician and producer. His career began as a drummer with Adam and the Ants and producer of the album Kings of the Wild Frontier. Yielding three hit singles, the distinctive sound of this highly influential album earned Chris, Music Week’s Producer of the Year award.
He has worked on the early development of Tom McCrae and The Electric Soft Parade, producing debut albums that were both nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize. Chris has played drums on records for Enya, Tori Amos, Robert Plant and Peter Gabriel, and worked with artists including Cooper Temple Clause, Lloyd Cole and Paul McCartney.
Mike and Sarah Purcell - Concrete Recordings
Husband and wife team Mike and Sarah Purcell set up Concrete Recordings in 2004 as a spin-off from their Manchester construction business in response to the surplus pool of locally based talent. They have been showcasing and releasing new music ever since and have been involved with the Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent competition since its inception. Concrete Recordings released the Glastonbury unsigned finalists compilations of 2004 and 2005, which between them include; The Subways, Blackbud, Ralfe Band, The Deadbeats and Scouting for Girls. Concrete Recordings currently run the Late 'n' Live Emerging Talent stage at the Festival.
Hilary White and the Glastonbury team
Hilary has worked at the festival for 13 years, during which she has been instrumental in overseeing many developments. She is a passionate supporter of new artists and since 2004 has been responsible for organising the festival’s popular national Emerging Talent competition. Hilary chairs the Glastonbury team with Dave and Julia Knight, Wes White, and Michelle Hilborne.
