Childrey Youth Football Club’s charity music night in West Hanney, Oxfordshire has raised a magnificent £6,543.76 for CLIC Sargent!
The inspiration behind the event came from Childrey's Under 14 boys, who wanted to support their friend, 13-year-old Maisie, who has cancer and is supported by CLIC Sargent.
The night was only made possible due to a huge effort from the parents of the Team, led by coaches Neil Barson and Jerry Broad, and the over whelming support and generosity from local businesses. Thanks also go to local farmer Alan Cottrell, who generously donated the ideal venue, Priors Court Barn in West Hanney for free.
top of pageThe Music Night was headlined by local indie band CU Tuesday and supported by Grove DJ Greg Parrot – and party-goers had a great time dancing the night away.
The licensed bar, supplied by The Plough Inn, West Hanney and The Fox Inn, Denchworth proved a huge hit and included local real ale kindly donated by White Horse Brewery. Guests also enjoyed a hog roast and BBQ which along with the raffle ticket sales helped the youth football club raise a tremendous amount of money to help children and young people people with cancer.
A big thank you to everyone who made the night such a success!
