A team of accountants from Knights Lowe in Bury St Edmunds held a golf day recently and managed to raise more than £5,000 for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity.
Held at the Fynn Valley Golf Course and organised by Knights Lowe, the golf day saw 21 teams of local individuals and businesses line up to tee off for the charity.
This is the second year that Knights Lowe has organised fundraising activities for CLIC Sargent. Daniel Mead, Senior Manager at Knights Lowe, says: “We were introduced to CLIC Sargent in 2005 when one of our accountants took part in a fundraising event on their behalf. We were so impressed by what the charity does for local children affected by cancer that we decided to support them in 2006 and again this year.
“We had a fantastic time at the golf day and we’d like to thank everybody who took part. We managed to beat the amount we raised last year by £2,000 and we’re delighted to be handing more than £5,000 over to CLIC Sargent.”
A big thank you to Dan Mead, Julie Dorling and everyone at Knights Lowe for making it such a great success.
