Well done and thank you to employees from more than 850 workplaces across the north west who put their hands in their pockets for CLIC Sargent. Century Radio's Bring a Pound to Work Day, which took place on Thursday 6 March, has raised more than £60,000 for the Charity.
Donations are still coming in and grand total could fund a new CLIC Sargent Young Person's Social Worker, based at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool for over a year.
On the day, Century Radio DJ’s and volunteers pounded the streets and travelled up and down the motorway, picking up pounds from workplaces from the whole of the north west.
Emily Felix-Davis, Event Fundraising Manager at CLIC Sargent, said, "I am astounded by the phenomenal response. Raising over £60,000 in one day is amazing and I would like to thank Century Radio for their hard work and every single listener that gave us a pound coin. There is still time to help. Anyone who couldn't give on the day can still pledge their pounds via the Century Radio website."
