Pupils from Manston Primary School in Crossgates were joined by Leeds United goalkeeper Casper Ankergren for a special penalty shoot-out to kick off a nationwide football fundraiser for CLIC Sargent at West Riding County Football Association, Woodlesford, Leeds.
Kick for Children with Cancer is a fun football fundraising campaign to raise money for the children’s cancer charity. This is the 6th consecutive year for event and the campaign has raised over £700,000 to date with more than 450,000 children and young people taking part. Manston Primary School has held Kick for Children with Cancer events for the past five years.
West Riding Country Football Association is also supporting the fundraising initiative by hosting the penalty shoot-out event and holding their FA charter Standard Mini-Soccer Festival in conjunction with CLIC Sargent.
The Leeds United goalkeeper is delighted to be representing the club backing this campaign: “this is a great way to encourage young people out on to the pitch this summer – especially with the World cup just around the corner.”

Schools and youth clubs can choose to keep 25% of the money raised to help fund resources such and sports equipment or donate the full amount to CLIC Sargent
Money raised through the campaign will go towards providing clinical, practical and emotional support for children and young people with cancer, and their families.
