Former West Bromwich Albion and England footballer Brendon Batson took on children from Grove Vale Primary School and Castle Bromwich Infant School at a penalty shoot-out to launch CLIC Sargent’s Kick for Children with Cancer fundraising campaign at Birmingham County Football Associations Sunday Cup Final recently.
Both schools joined in the World Cup fever and more than 400 children from Grove Vale School and around 360 pupils from Castle Bromwich School tackled 12 activities on their football fun day.
Brendon said: "Getting out onto the pitch this summer with CLIC Sargent’s fundraising campaign is a great way for young people to get fit and active. To do this whilst raising money for a good cause at the same time is even better."
This is Kick for Children with Cancers sixth consecutive year. The campaign has raised over £700,000 to date.
