If you go down to the park today you'll find… people in their pyjamas!?!
The Leeds PJ 5K was a great success with over 100 local people taking part in the event, nearly all of whom braved the embarrassment by wearing their pyjamas outside during the day! The event was held during Yummy Mummy Week in September and there were 12 PJ 5K events at locations around the UK. The event is a sponsored walk in pyjamas to raise money for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity.
Dee Richardson, Event Fundraising Manager for CLIC Sargent in the region said: “The Leeds PJ 5K was great fun. Most people took part in the whole five kilometre walk around Roundhay Park with a few opting for the more manageable 1km walk or toddle for little legs. As well as it being a fantastic, fun, family-friendly day out, it has raised much needed funds for CLIC Sargent. We are however still waiting on sponsorship money to come in so I’d urge anyone who took part to send in their donation as soon as possible.”
This will be an annual event which we hope will grow in size year after year. To find out more about the PJ 5K event, or National Yummy Mummy Week in general, log onto: http://www.yummymummy.org.uk or call Dee Richardson on 0113 230 7902.
