The first annual ‘Cadets Tri Challenge’ was held recently at Strathclyde Park in Lanarkshire in a bid to raise funds for CLIC Sargent. During the day, 100 Cadets from the Army Cadet Force and the Air Training Corps in Glasgow and Lanarkshire took part in activities such as rafting, cycling and canoeing.
Richard Donald, Community Fundraising Manager, CLIC Sargent explains; “The cadets braved miserable conditions to raise funds for children and young people with cancer whilst competing in teams of four in a ‘round robin’ style of events. In the end, the army cadets were victorious, winning the overall trophy for being the best team.
“It was a fantastic day and very gratifying to see so many young people enjoying themselves and having fun. We hope to make this into an annual event and build on its success for the future. Thanks especially go to those people from the Army Cadet Force who organised the day, and who motivated the cadets to raise money for CLIC Sargent’
