Home > What we do > Research >What is the Child Cancer Foundation?
It dedicates itself to research and is run by CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity.
Why fund research?
We want to contribute to improved survival rates, reduce side effects and minimize the emotional impact of childhood cancer. Last year our commitment to research continued in the shape of £766,000 in grants and research work.
What sort of research does the Child Cancer Foundation do?
- Laboratory research – looking for causes and possible new treatments.
- Clinical research – using different treatments to improve the control and management of symptoms.
- Psychosocial research – exploring the real needs of families to improve their quality of life.
Where is the research carried out?
We fund researchers to carry out scientific and clinical research in their area of expertise. Family needs research is mainly conducted by us or in collaboration with other researchers.
We are now calling for applications for scientific, clinical and psychosocial research grants. For further information on research grants please visit our scientific and clinical research page for details about how to apply for the scientific research grants, or the psychosocial research page for details for details about how to apply for the psychosocial research grants.
