posted: 28.07.2011
message: my 3 year old daughter had surgery 4 weeks ago for a large left sided brain tumour. since the operation she is unable to speak or move her right arm and leg. we were told to expect some recovery in the first couple of weeks but have not seen any impovement yet and I am now anxious as to whether she will walk or talk again.(on top of all the stress of the illness and treatment itself) does anyone have any experience of this and any advice please?

message: Hi, My son also had a brain tumour removed over six weeks ago aged 4 and now he is undergoing radiotherpay and chemo! please understand that for a brain suregery recovery can take time for some kids, and others bounce back. We had the same experience of the balance and walking etc, but you should get help with physio and many other things. the one thing we have learnt is to keeo active and walking and out in the fresh air, we out our child in a push chair and take him down the park even with a hickman line in! it does the kids a world of good. Let me know how you are going much love and blessings and recovery to your little one.
